October 22, 2012

We decided to make a trip to our friend's Petting Zoo/Corn Maze/Haunted Hayride on Saturday.  Miles was extremely excited.  Anytime we see any house decorated for Halloween we have to drive by it a couple of times so he can see all the spooky stuff.  I thought he would LOVE it.  So we went before it really started and we were just going to pet some animals and go on the hay ride without any scaring or darkness or corn maze.

First we fed some goats.  Miles thought this was fun but the girls were a bit scared.

Then he found a cat.  See Malorie pointing!

Then we found some gravel which everyone enjoyed!  This was probably the highlight for the babies.

Then we kept a watchful eye on the hay ride until it was finally our time to go.

We checked out some of the spooky decorations before we loaded up onto the wagon.

Cute family picture!!

I tried to get a picture of what happened next but the hay ride was too bumpy.  Miles was super excited to go but about three minutes in, we started seeing some of the props.  There were heads hanging, fake car wrecks, lots of spooky masks, and giant spider webs.  I looked at him and he had this look of complete fear on his face.  Sam and I kept asking him if he was scared and he kept saying no but kept this terror look on his face.  So when we got home last night, I gave him a bath, and we were putting his jammies on and I asked him again if he was scared.  He hugged me and said, "I don't want to go to John's house ever, ever, ever again.  It was too scary."  We probably traumatized him.  He said he saw one spooky clown that was the scariest.  Sam and I saw this mask and it was probably the most unscary mask John had but to each their own I guess.

Today before nap out of the blue he said, "maybe we can go back to John's when I am bigger." Guess he is still thinking about it.....
