August 10

A new chapter.....

Yesterday was the babies first day at the babysitters.  They did great!  I was a little nervous just because Pearl is such a Mama's girl lately but they were perfectly fine.  Amber is the baby whisperer.  Miles was so excited to go.  He kept talking all morning about the little tractor he was going to play with.  Once there, he found it and was in heaven.  The whole experience was hardest on me I think as it means and end to my stay at home mom stint.  Although I think my sanity may come back with some away time, I'm nervous about how this new chapter is going to play out with getting up so early and getting three in the car.  We shall see.

Miles was also on a "I don't want to" kick this past week.  No matter what I said he would say "I don't want to" + whatever it was I said.  For instance I said, lets go brush your teeth.  He said, "I don't want to brush my teeth.  I brushed my teeth yesterday."  Aunt Marilyn was coming over and I said, "Do you like Aunt Marilyn" (which he does) and he said, "I don't want to like Aunt Marilyn."  It was a fun week.

Another funny  Miles story is that he went to the farmer's market with Grunny and was touching and picking up everything.  She told him to stop and was checking out when she looked over and he had a head of lettuce on the floor and was using it as a pillow.  Ha.

Mr. Miles has become interested in crafts so I bought him some starter scissors and glue.  We now are the proud owners of several beautiful pictures that adorn our fridge.  The last one we started gluing things we found under the couch so it has some foam letters, a cotton ball, and a tissue.  It will be in a museum someday I am sure.

Malorie has decided she is a thumb sucker and has started putting herself to sleep.  It is so cute.

We had a little photo shoot when everyone else was sleeping.  I took pictures of Miles when he was the same age and they remind me so much of one another.  These are some of my favorite silly faces.

Yes, my kids are always in diapers and no clothes.  That is how we roll at this house.  Once you get it dirty, you are naked until the next time Mommy has to go upstairs.  This is Miles with his new Gator which our super nice neighbors The Billman's brought by.  He was a very happy boy.

Pearl was eating her arm today so we tried bananas again.  They both did a pretty good job so I think the high chairs are out to stay!
