July 11, 2012

We had our annual 4th of July hog roast last Saturday and it was a hit.  It was extremely hot but otherwise everything went well.  We had five people staying with us and it was great to see everyone.  The girls were not that excited as they have extreme stranger anxiety right now and did not like people in their house.  After they warmed up though, they were dancing on the tables!

No, literally.  Malorie was obsessed with climbing on this table and dancing.  Then they all joined in.  Here are Meg and Dom enjoying the entertainment.

Here is Malorie the following morning trying to recreate the fun.  I had to put the chairs on top so she couldn't climb them.

Miss Pearl got her first taste of lemon.  She loved it or course.

Aunt Zo took Miles on a shopping cart ride.  He was in heaven.

This is the only picture I have of the hog set up (way in the back).  Of course my children had to be naked and in the pool even with people here.  At this point everyone was inside because it was still 104 outside.  I don't have very many pictures because it was so chaotic but a good time was had by all.  Thanks to Meg, Dom, Colin, Matt and Amy for coming from out of town!  It was great to see you all.

Vedant came to play which made Miles very happy.

Sunday morning my children were ready for people to leave I think as they were all being extra needy and crying for no reason.  As soon as everyone left, they perked right up.  I don't think they like to share attention.

I came into the living room and found this.  Pearl was very pleased with herself.

So then I tickled her and she kept making this face.  Her teeth crack me up.  They are all crooked a different way!  I can't wait to see what they look like when they are all in.

Malorie wanted in on the fun.  (Notice the bracelet - baby rings are now bracelets)

The girls were attacking Sam.  He is in there somewhere.  Yes, they are girls - just like boys pj's is all.

Then Spider Man came to visit.  I'm not sure what he did with Miles.  All I know is that Miles went to Walmart with Aunt Kerri and when I got home from taking the girls to the Dr., he was nowhere to be found.

Malorie was trying to go to sleep on the rug before nap time and Pearl kept attacking her and trying to love on her.  Here she is trying to kiss her.

And a hug.  Notice Malorie's nose.  She climbed up into the tree house and went down the big slide.  She almost made it but about 1/4 left to go, she flipped forward and landed nose first on the ground.

This might be my new favorite picture.

Another try at the kiss......

Oh, she gave up.  Malorie was trying to escape so Pearl tried to hold on to her by her eye.

We had our 18 month check up yesterday.  Pearl weighed a whopping 19 lbs and in the 12% for height.  Obviously she wasn't on the chart for weight.  Her head was in the 5%.  Malorie on the other hand weighed 22 lbs (20%), was in the 30% for height, and her head was in the 60%!!  Go genetics!

They are doing great!  They are doing everything they asked and more.  Pearl's heart murmur that she has had since birth is sounding different than before so they want me to take her to Children's next week to have it looked at.  They don't think it is anything but since she is so small, they wanted to make sure.
