January 13, 2012

Our Neonatology appt was on Tuesday.  It went very well!  Both girls are scoring average in all areas for 12 month olds even thought their adjusted age is only 9 months!  (Malorie was a few points low on Gross motor skills because she refused to pull up while at the appt.)  She  has done it but doesn't like to because she isn't good at getting back down gracefully.  Frank isn't too good at doing anything gracefully!  Pearl turned on her charm and had all the nurses laughing by the time we left.  She was doing all her silliest faces and they all thought she was a pretty funny baby.  It was a really long appt and my girls were hanging on by a thread toward the end.  We got there about 10:15 and didn't get out until about 12:40.  We ate our lunch while waiting on the table for the Dr when we ran out of things to entertain the girls.  Needless to say, I am glad my Mom was able to go with me.

Both girls weighed 4oz more than on Monday but I'm assuming that was a scale issue.  Growth wise, they are both fine even though Pearl is still so tiny.  We don't go back to Children's until November and that will be the last time unless something isn't going well.  They couldn't be doing better for 29 weekers!  I never imagined a year ago that this outcome was possible so I am extremely grateful and feel incredibly blessed.
These bear were not happy about our two hour delay today.  They wanted to take a nap but instead got to get in the car.

This is Miles attempt at a "very silly" face.  Cute but not so much silly.  Can you tell what he had for lunch?

The tv is on.  Could you tell?

Those dreaded 12 month shots were yesterday.  5 sticks!!!  They did really well and only cried for a minute.  The worst part was taking off all the bandaids.  They both cried longer for that as they were some sort of mega adhesive.

Malorie had just ripped the one off of Pearl's arm so I decided they needed to all come off before they got ingested.  She looks so guilty.

These pics made me think of this one of Miles after his 12 month shots.  I would never trust the girls to stand on the couch like this.
