June 13, 2012

Yesterday was the first day of swim lessons for Mr. Miles.  He said he was excited but he didn't really know what it meant.  I told him that if he followed all the directions and was brave that he would get a slushy (his new fave) and all this toys back (I take a toy every time he is aggressive towards anyone - works much better than time outs these days).  I had to make the bribe big because I knew if day 1 didn't go well, we were never going back.

This is his before picture.

This is his after!  He opted for a Popsicle with four different colors instead.  He did great!  It started off rocky as you have to leave your mom in the viewing area and go into the pool area alone with the teacher and other kids.  Miles was the only 3 yr old with four other 4 yr olds.  He was like "no way am I leaving Mom."  He protested a little and she let me take him in.  After a few minutes, he followed along with the others and did everything she asked him to do.  I was AMAZED.  My bets were against him as he has always hated water and been really nervous around it.  I spread the praise on thick when he was done.  He was sooooo proud of himself.  I was the proud Mom in the viewing area about to cry because he was doing so well.  I am lame.  He has already said he doesn't want to go back tomorrow so we will see how that goes!

You can't really see this but Malorie decided to eat her bunny grahams with her toes.  There is one in there right now.

It must have worn her out as she then crawled up on the couch, curled up and started sucking her thumb.
Monday, Pearl and I had a date while Miles and Malorie went to Amber's.  Pearl had to do to the Dr. for a bad diaper rash.  It is more like a burn because her poo is so acidic.  They put her back on Zantac which isn't fun but hopefully she will start sleeping better and her bottom will heal.  While out we got some new outfits and once home, we  had to play dress up as I took the tags off.

Miles got in on the action with a hat.  He tries to make me laugh now so he is constantly making this face. He thinks he is the silliest kid around.

He also got in on some "night night" which I started to get the babies away from him while he played trucks.

Then as I tried to keep the babies away from him while he played trains, he came and stole the bird house we got out.  We moved on to other toys and I caught him telling  his birdies to "take a nap".

Pearl found  her Power Ranger glove again.  Anything to accessorize her boy outfit Sam put on her this morning.
