What the adult vacation looked like........

We flew into NYC on Friday morning around 9.  We left Andy's apartment at 10 and didn't return until 11 that night.  We walked and walked and walked.  This is the first weird statue we saw.  It was at the largest Episcopal Cathedral.

They also had peacocks which was fun.  We had to hunt them down though.  We found them on the fence.  Who knew they liked fences.

Then we walked through Central Park until we got to the Museum.  This is the balcony.

Then we walked all over trying to find me shoes as I had on flip flops and they weren't cutting it.  We ended up at Grand Central Station at an Oyster Bar.  Who would have thought a train station would be the place for seafood.  Sam and Andy were pretty excited.
Then we waited at a Japanese restaurant to eat for 1.5 hours, gave up, got pizza by the slice and ate it on a bench.  It was fabulous until a rat decided to join us and I had to leave.

The next morning we were out by 8 and went to the Seinfeld diner for breakfast.  It isn't the diner on the inside, just the outside.  It is right by Andy's apartment.

Then we walked and walked and walked again.  This is the High-Line - a walkway on old train tracks.  It was pretty cool.

This is a creepy picture I took for Miles.  He is really into creepy and spooky things.  He loved it!

Then we rode the ferry to Staten Island.  This is the city view.

Then we went to Brooklyn to the Brooklyn Brewery to go on a tour.  The boys were very happy.

Then we happened upon a band that was interesting.  Two had no shoes, one (male) had on a skirt and ruby slippers, one played a saw, and there was a band dog asleep at the feet of one.  It was fun though!

We also saw a lot of unique tattoos in Brooklyn.  My favorite was a unicorn with gouged out eyes all bandaged up.  Another notable is a pair of cat faces on a man's leg that read "Push to Live".  His girlfriend has a matching one that says "Live to Push".  I pretended like I understood.  I guess my art interpretation class failed me.

Sunday we went to the Cloisters to see the castle.  It was pretty.

They had magic plants.

It was a fun time but too long away from my babies.  The girls are really into Mommy right now so it was hard.  It was probably harder on me than them I'm sure.  Miles was fine but he is old enough to know what is going on.  I told Sam next time we can get away it better to be someplace warm where I can sit and do nothing for at least an entire day!
