February 26, 2012

In the past 24 hours we have done 6 loads of laundry, including two car seat covers, a blanket, several towels, several pj's, several sheets, and lots and lots of diapers.  I have also changed my own clothes 5 times, bathed the girls a few, and slept little.  Can you guess what has been happening here?  You got it, two pukers.  Poor girls can't catch a break.  As soon as the Augmentin kicks in to knock out the ear infection, they get some stomach thing.  This is two weekends in a row that Pearl  has been pathetic.

We got in the car to go out to dinner last night and before we pulled out of the garage, Pearl vomited all over herself.  I cleaned up the car, Sam cleaned up Pearl.  The other two were all strapped in and Miles was saying "it is stinky in here."  A lot of Febreze later, we decided she wasn't sick, she just ate something weird.  She had acted fine all day so we ventured onward.  (We realize we are idiots.)  We made it about 10 miles down the road when I looked back and she was throwing up again.  I pulled over, cleaned her up and made the executive decision that we were turning around and going home.  Miles was not happy about this as he had his little heart set on chicken fingers and french fries.  Once we got home we realized we had no food and everyone was already at the point of super hungry and we still had a car full of puke to deal with.  Sam took on the car and I made a delicious dinner of fish sticks and fries.  ( My attempt to make something similar to what Miles really wanted).  Pearl puked again in her high chair and again on the couch on the blanket and again on my sweatshirt and again on the floor.  Poor thing.  She had nothing left so I gave  her a little water and took her to bed.  She slept until about 11 and then was up whining.  Malorie couldn't sleep either.  She kept tossing and moaning.  I kept checking her and she was fine - until about 2 am when she started gagging.  Then we changed her bed and clothes and got her back to sleep.  Pearl slept again until 4 I think at which point she was just inconsolable.  We got up and got some Pedialite.  She was so thirsty I felt so bad for her.  Then she threw all that up on me as well.  Everyone just woke up from a three hour afternoon nap and they seem much better.  I am hopeful that our little adventure is coming to an end here - at least until Miles gets it.

Malorie looking guilty after hitting the tv buttons.  This is the most fun game the girls play. They turn it off and wait for me to say no no no.  Then they smile and do it again.

Can you tell what Pearl was dining on?  A brown crayon.

This is Sunday afternoon.  She was seeming to feel a little better and was carrying this spoon around.

Right after I took this picture, Pearl laid down on me and Malorie and fell asleep.

After nap, we attempted some food.  Graham crackers.  So far, so good.  Although I'm not feeling great right now :(
