February 18

Pearl is still off her CPAP.  She is doing fine.  She has had a couple of spells but nothing major and has always brought herself back up.  She is on 1/16 liter of oxygen and her feeds are still at 28.  Her cultures came back negative for any infection which is good.  I guess she was just done with her CPAP.  They are waiting a little while to start her on bottle feeds as they don't want to overwhelm her with too many new things all at once.  One nurse thought maybe in a few days they would try her.  She weighed 3lbs 5 oz. last night. 

Malorie is still off of her oxygen which is fabulous.  She has spells after her feedings but can always come out of them quickly.  She gets so tired when she gets a bottle that by the end she can hardly finish.  She is a whopping 5lbs 3 oz. now!  Some of her preemie clothes are even too little which is encouraging.  As much as I want her home, I'm dreading having one still in the hospital.  I'm not sure how that is going to work since Malorie won't be able to go back to the NICU with me.  I guess we will cross that bridge when it comes. 

Pearl was getting ready for some lunch.  She was looking cute with ruffles on her bottom.

Malorie was looking so snugglie on her side.  They are trying to get her head all rounded out so she is supposed to stay on her left.  The CPAP hats squish their heads.  Not to worry - should be nice and round soon.
