February 22

Pearl tried to nurse today - only because I made her.  Needless to say, she wasn't very interested.  She did however, seem interested in the bottle for about three seconds so I'm hopeful it is finally clicking.  She weighed 3lbs 10 oz. last night but they thing the bed scale was sticking because it was such a big gain.  We will see tonight if it is true or not.  She had one spell last night into the 80's on her oxygen but otherwise has been fine.  They tried to ween her down to 1/32 liter of oxygen while I was there today and she only lasted about 10 minutes before they turned her back up.  She just couldn't do it.  She is looking more and more like a real baby though so I'm  hoping she is just a couple weeks behind her sister. 

Malorie had two spells last night!  Usually this means they have to wait 5 days until they go home (this is what the nurses were telling me).  Apparently though the director of the NICU at OSU is our Dr. right now and he didn't think so.  He said they were because she was feeding and she is fine.  So he was expecting her to go home in two to three days he said.  How exciting!  So with that said after I fed her today she fell asleep and had her heart rate drop.  I don't know if this changes things or not.  I'm waiting to hear what they say at night rounds.  She weighed 5lbs 4.2 oz. last night. 

Malorie was sleeping so soundly after she ate.  She looked so cute. 

Pearl was on her tummy, getting in some zzz's.  She was on her face and I had to turn her head.  I felt bad because she seemed to like it that way but it scared me.
